Fair and Honest Representation

As a candidate you are extremely important to us. You are coming to us to change positions and therefore need assistance to make the best impact on any perspective employers and we take either of these roles very seriously. Since we specialize in tax, audit and accounting placements we work in a little different method than other recruiters. When you send your resume to us, we don't ask you to submit a selected position with it. We prefer to have you answer a few very specific questions about salary desires, location of work place and the amount of travel you will participate in, and then we will screen your qualifications and experience with our available positions. Once we have done this analysis, one of our qualified associates will call you for a preliminary conversation. As part of this process we commit the following to each candidate:

  • Our fees are paid by the employer - If there is a mutual agreement between a candidate and a client that results in a candidate being hired all fees are paid to Childs, Smith & Associates by the new employer. The candidate has no cost to bear.

  • We Do Not Discriminate - Childs, Smith & Associates does not discriminate in the referral of candidates by age, race religion, sex, nationality or marital status.

  • All Data Will Be Strictly Confidential - We ask all clients to refrain from contacting any current employers without your express permission. Also all candidate information is to be considered confidential and may not be used for any other purpose by the client or any other organization.

  • Resume Consultation - There are many theories about how to create a resume but there is no single correct answer. Due to the close, professional relationship we maintain with our clients, we are able to provide each prospective candidate for each firm with some very specialized information and insight to the candidates. Not all candidates will meet the qualifications or experience levels of all the clients and by our pre-reviewing your information we can narrow the scope of your search dramatically. This helps one avoid disappointment and a feeling of rejection too many times.

  • Interview Arrangement And Preparation - The interview is often one of the scariest parts of the candidate's daily life and one that is difficult to prepare for, even if you are well experienced. With the help of our qualified staff you will find hints and helps available, once there is a possible match between you and a prospective client, that will make this process much easier and smoother.

  • Relocation Assistance - If you have chosen to relocate to another part of the country, you have come to the proper place for help. We work with clients, nationwide, who generally provide for relocation assistance and they are interested in providing for a smooth transition for all new employees. This will be discussed in detail once we have reviewed your resume and application against our database of open positions. It is very important that your expectations are addressed in this area.

  • Career Consultation - If you are contemplating changing career paths or looking to better your position in your field you may benefit from our optional Career Consultation. Our associates will discuss your expectations and desires with you and meld it with their respected experience and training to offer you the best possible advise.

  • Salary Review - Not only do we work with the Client to determine a fair and equitable pay rate for a given position, we also carry this same methodology over to the candidate. Your assigned associate will provide you with a wage analysis for the position they have selected for presentation to you, as well as a review of cost of living changes necessary, if relocation is involved.

  • Benefits Consulting - Many times this area is forgotten in the changing of positions but it must be of primary importance to all candidates in today's market place. Our associates are very familiar with the available benefits available from each client in our portfolio and once they have pre-reviewed your file and determined there might be a possible match, they will share this information with you, upon request.

Now, as with any area of life where major decisions are made based on advice from different individuals, we cannot guarantee that we will find a match for you in our current listings.

The accuracy and honesty in communications in your resume and preliminary conversations will go a long way to help open up a possibility for a better position. However, since the preliminary review is based on these items and the associate's knowledge of the clients and their experience we cannot say it is an exact science, therefore we cannot guarantee you a position. But we can tell you, that we will do everything in our power to work with you to address your desires and expectations.
