Salary: $80-$95 plus bonus

Travel: 25-30%

 

The position has been created as a result of the Sarbanes Oxley Act that has come into force for all US public companies and requires them to attest to their control environments. Section 302 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act became effective from 14 November 2002. As part of the certification related to periodic reporting requirements, the CEO/CFO must certify that:

 They are responsible for establishing and maintaining disclosure controls and procedures;

·         They have designed ‘Disclosure Controls and Procedures’ to ensure specified information is made known to them, and

·         They have evaluated and reported on the effectiveness of those controls and procedures as of a date within 90 days of the report filing.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 Administering the SOX database, including creating template control assessments and effectiveness tests, and establishing user access;

·         Forming opinions as to whether the operations are meeting the control objectives listed in the SOX database or not;

·         Assisting in updating documentation regarding the current control environments of TSP entities, identifying control weaknesses and assisting in recommending remediation plans for the control weaknesses;

·         Assisting in the remediation of control weaknesses;

·         Performing formal effectiveness reviews of the controls documented;

·         Reviewing entity compliance with company policies and procedures

·         Other ad hoc projects and tasks relevant to compliance.

 

 The ideal candidate should possess the following:

 Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related discipline.

·         CPA, CIA, CMA or CA is a strong plus

·         Sound knowledge of internal financial and operational controls is required.

·         Must possess a solid understanding of US GAAP.

·         Experience/proficiency in Sarbanes Oxley is a strong plus.

·         At least 3-5 years related audit experience.

·         3+ years of Audit experience including some manufacturing within a public accounting or internal audit environment is required.

·         Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with all levels of management.

·         Ability to work both independently and in team situations;

·         Possess strong Microsoft Office skills; including Word and Excel;

·         Must be able to travel 25% to a maximum of 30% of the time.

·         Foreign language skills in French or Spanish are a plus.
